You’re probably thinking “conversational marketing” sounds like another buzzword…

Well, truth is — it’s not. It’s actually no where NEAR as popular as it should be considering the concept.

What is it?

Conversational marketing is about three main things:

  1. Start the conversation — starting REAL conversations with your customers and gaining genuine insight and feedback through those conversations.
  2. Find the right words — looking at the language your customers use, and including terms and phrases they use to describe your product or brand is particularly important. How do they explain your product to their friends in a way that makes sense?
  3. Automate — once you have had these conversations, found out the brand messaging style that resonates with your audience, and discovered questions your potential customers are dying to know, it’s time to automate those conversations through AI services like ManyChat.

It is, in my opinion and that of many other marketers, a KEY component for your marketing strategy if you want to engage and connect with your audience online.

We live in a time where we spend 50minutes a day looking at Facebookare shown over 5000 ads a day and the number of global social media users is over 3 billion.

Global Digital Report: 2018

This online shift has definitely levelled the playing field between big corporates and startups/small businesses when it comes to advertising. You no longer need $1000s of dollars to get your message in front of an audience. You can advertise to people that have already shown an interest in your product or your competitor’s product. Plus, you can find and advertise to previously anonymous website visitors, that checked out your products/services yet ultimately did not buy.

The affordability of online advertising however, does not directly correlate to it’s success. It’s hard to be seen, and it’s hard to get heard because the proliferation of small businesses on Facebook has only led to clutter, posting for postings sake, and a whole heap of one-to-many marketing strategies or worse — no marketing strategy at all.

This is where conversational marketing can turn your social media stress, into monetary success.

Why do I need it?

If you start the conversation with your customers in a short, fun + personable way using AI (artificial intelligence) with a little HI (human intelligence) you can gain genuine customer insight to inform clever automation.

By taking the common sense approach of actually LISTENING to your potential customers’ needs and wants, your business can incorporate their feedback into your communications strategy. This can help you overcome barriers to purchase you never knew existed, fix product issues you never knew you had, and create tailored communications that speak directly to a specific type of person via FREE chatbot software like ManyChat.

This means that when done RIGHT, small businesses can create cleverly personalised, automated, one-to-one conversations with customers about things they genuinely give a sh!t about!

So after a while you can work less and live more.

However, marketing automation is no good if it’s robotic and lifeless, even worse when your customers become frustrated with it’s lack of understanding and awkward responses.

The key? Own the automation, without sounding like a stiff, corporate robot that has absolutely no personality.

Oh, and did I mention this type of marketing has 80%+ open rates!?
